Hello! Let me introduce myself. I have worked on both sides of the editor’s desk, both in-house for Catholic houses including Ascension Press, Ave Maria, and (most recently) Franciscan Media — and for a decade as a freelance editor, which is what I’m doing right now.
Having spent more thantwenty years in the Catholic publishing industry as both an editor and an author, I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the best writers and editors in the business, and have learned that publishing is first and foremost about relationships. And while I’m happy to answer any questions I can about what I’ve learned about publishing, my primary purpose in starting this blog is to create an online space for Catholic writers to learn and connect with each other.
If you have an idea for a future post, or would like to send me an idea for a guest post, write to me at Heidi(dot)hess(dot)saxton(at)gmail(dot)com. Be sure to put “AskaCatholicEditor” in the subject line.
